All of the chapters for my current series have FINALLY been properly linked to in this post. Once I've got some one-shots done, they'll be here too. You can also use the Tags to your right, but they're not gonna be much help until I have something other than one big Hotch/Reid hurt/comfort fic on my journal.

Chapter 0: Connections (Read It Here)
Chapter 1: Fractures (part 1) (Read It Here)
Chapter 1.5: Fractures (part 2) (Read It Here)
Chapter 2: Convergence (part 1) (Read It Here)
Chapter 2.5: Convergence (part 2) (Read It Here)
Chapter 3: Parting (Read It Here)
Chapter 4: Reunion (Read It Here)
Chapter 5: Aftershock (Read It Here)
Chapter 6: Cautious (Read It Here)
Chapter 7: Gradual (Read It Here)
Chapter 8: Reclaim (Read It Here)
Chapter 9: React (Read It Here)
Chapter 10: Comfort (Read It Here)
Chapter 11: One Step Forward, Two Steps Back (Read It Here)
Chapter 12: Steps Taken (Read It Here)
Chapter 13: Steps Ahead (Read It Here)  (WARNING - chapter rated FRAO for explicit slash)

Look! Oneshots! :D
NEW! Rush - Rated FRAO for explicit noncon, semicon, and consensual (H/R) slash. Also violence! Long story short: Hotch gets knocked around by a case's pack of UNSUBs, and Reid saves him, in more ways than one.

Wow, so this is officially just a dead journal now! Now then, on to business. As you all know, I've returned to being a rabid Criminal Minds fangirl. You may not know THIS, but I am already selling possessions to get Season 3 DVDs, hahaha. Better yet, the rewrite of "Breaking Spencer Reid", which I've taken the past week of my life mapping out, will not be posted to this cluttered angstfest of a journal; it's being taken into a loving new home at my relatively new fanfic journal.Instead of an aborted 13-chapter incoherent mess with a clunky title (see below) and some hilarious leaps of logic, it is now shaping up to be a well-plotted, better-paced, and less painfully saccharine (GAWD) piece of half-decent work. Expect the first chapter of the rewrite to come in in about two weeks.

One last weird question to any readers who see this: Is anyone terribly attached to the old title? I have a new one in mind, but I want to make sure (since I have the tiniest bit of love for the old one myself, awkward though it is).

Now I'm off to go private the non-fic entries here, and then this will just be the home of the original Breaking Spencer Reid, for the morbidly curious.

Good news, everybody.

Hotch being all bloody and staggering around is probably going to throw Breaking Spencer Reid back on track, at this rate.

Because OH MY GOD.

Anyway, that's that. Just dropping by to let anyone who still pushes back the cobwebs and looks at this journal that I'm not dead or anything, and to give a glimmer of hope to everyone who remembers this old story.

ps. I re-read about three sentences of BSR and was, to quote Robert Sean Leonard, about a bottle of Maker's Mark and a shotgun away from offing myself. How did anyone READ this drivel? I 'm going to do a full rewrite— I think I could improve it significantly, not to mention WOW needs some plot threads to stop unraveling. This thing has about as much continuity and coherence as the last decade of Marvel comics. [/obscure zing!] Plus I want to develop something instead of having a Relationship Ex Machina. Also less of everyone acting like teenage girls. Good GAWD.

And yes, I got one comment recently (err, relatively recently) about how Reid ought to be more traumatized or self-loathing or some such. It was well-thought-out and a great example was provided, but I don't believe it's consistent with his personality, particularly his knowledge of the criminal mind. He's not going to say, "Oh, woe, why did this happen to me?" He's going to say, "I just had to get kidnapped by a guy with a need to make others feel powerless." So I'm not going to alter his response to the whole rape thing too much. I am, however, going to add a new scene in the second arc because I do think I rushed them into the sex out of a general need to just write something.

Well, anywho. Off to cure some writer's block. And cut together all the clips of Hotch from the two promos and watch old episodes. Once the show starts up, I'll be able to write this thing like nobody's business.

Formatting could be a mite wonky because my computer hates me this week, and I'm gonna install Vista SP1 the minute I post this, but hey, something written and posted on my epileptic hatemongering laptop is still something written and posted, haha.

Title: Rush
Rating: FRAO
Pairing: UNSUB/H, H/R.
Warnings: Language, Violence, Noncon, Slash
Summary: The chase stopped being about the UNSUBs the minute they found the girl. It was anger, guilt, and silent self-destruction that threw him into the alley after them--and sent a second chance stumbling in after him. Takes place at a nonspecific date after Gideon's departure.
Disclaimer: Don't own Criminal Minds, making no money off this.
Notes: Written from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. one night, touched up from 9 to 11:30 another night two months later and from 2 to 5pm a few days later. This started as Hotch angst plus violence, then became violence plus smut, and now it’s a big violent smutty character study that went the way of my AP papers and flew in every theoretical direction my observations of Hotch and Reid can go. Feedback is love, even if you hated it.

Latest episode had nothing on the Hotchner Divorce. Only a more tired and slightly combative Hotch. And this could be the SEASON. FINALE. Mother of God. I love the writers, but AUGH.

I am beginning to like Rossi, though. He even has his own little theme music, has anyone else noticed?

Breaking Spencer Reid may not see a new chapter for a while. I've written myself into a neat little corner, and I've got a great way to push back into the swing of things, but I need to get the transition chapter done. Until that gets a little kickstart, it's H/R oneshot city.

However, there is a smutty one-shot forming right now. I promise good things.

Thomas Gibson plays Greg on Dharma and Greg. He plays SSA Aaron Hotchner in Criminal Minds.

Now. What I've learned about Greg so far:
-He's an attorney
-His relationship with his parents isn't exactly spectacular
-He loves The Pirates of Penzance
-He wears suits and ties often
-He has friends in the FBI

Now, think.

What did Hotch do before joining the Bureau?
What did we learn about his family situation growing up, during the Perotta case?
What high school play was he in?
What does he wear ad nauseum?
Where does he work?

You know what they say: talent borrows, genius steals. I love the Criminal Minds writers. Clever bastards. <3

Sweet mother of GOD. Thomas Gibson's younger days were a marvelous age indeed. Case in point: the first few minutes of Dharma & Greg sent me into squee!fits the likes of which I've never believed possible.

I think he may have replaced MGG as my favorite Criminal Minds actor. Gasp! Oh, speaking of which, "3rd Life" was okay. It had one specific good point and one specific bad point.

The good news: Reid got a little more traumatized than he usually does on a case. (Hooray for more PTSD!)
The bad news: Nothing on the Hotchner Divorce Subplot. I am angered and dismayed.

But that kid getting shot in the kneecap was pretty awesome. <3 Angry mafia dad FTW.

And now back to my squee!fits over Thomas Gibson.

Title: Steps Ahead
Rating: FRAO
Pairing: Hotch/Reid.
Warnings: Slash.
Summary: Hotch edges towards a breakdown after getting some painful news. Reid, PTSD or not, can tell something's wrong, and a game of comfort becomes a turning point.
Disclaimer: Don't own Criminal Minds, CBS does. I make no monetary profit from this.
Notes: So, originally this chapter was just FRT for the usual H/R fluffy!slash... guess my muse disagreed?

So I'm writing a piece of this latest chapter and a thought strikes me. Hotch became a lawyer but likes it better at the BAU; Hotch marries a girl he meets in high school, even though they disagree on the issue of career ambition, which is clearly important to him, as well as on other priorities.

Now we know Hotch's dad died of lung cancer when Hotch was in high school. We all know he's proud of his father for being a lawyer, and if he can maintain that after the hints that he's been abused, then he must have really looked up to him. So obviously he becomes a lawyer out of obligation to his father. Maybe they were even kind of close, when he wasn't abusive. What I'm getting at is, I think it affected other things.

Personally? I think he married Haley out of subconscious fear that he might not live long enough to have a family.

ps, next chapter of Breaking Spencer Reid is officially going to be FRAO. And not the vague noise-description-only kind from Chapter 2. Also I'm relatively new to it, so bear with me? Love you all, expect the new chapter today! :D

Title: Steps Traveled
Rating: FRM
Warnings: Mention of rape, mention of torture, some slash.
Disclaimer: I don't own Criminal Minds, CBS does.
Notes: After chapter 15 or so, the third arc will start up, but until I figure out a way to transition into it (and it's gonna need a major transition) things might slow down a little. Also, I got a laptop for Christmas! :D I'm not enjoying Vista much and the touchpad mouse is kinda wonky, but it's got a keyboard and WordPad, and that's all I really need. Hopefully, this'll mean chapters getting posted faster, but we shall see.

Title: One Step Forward, Two Steps Back.
Author: empathy_apathy
Rating: FRM
Warnings: Reference to earlier noncon slash, angst, mention of violence.
Summary: The team takes its first case with Hotch and Reid on the sidelines, and a package is delivered to Reid from the sanitarium where his mother resided. Meanwhile, Hatford manages to strike a devastating blow from a distance.
Disclaimer: I don't own Criminal Minds, CBS does, yadda yadda.
Notes: Another chapter already! O-kay, I think I'm done my chapter-a-day streak now. Happy holidays, and may my conscience forgive me for this chapter!

Warnings: Mention of torture, slash
Summary: An afternoon is spent almost exclusively on a piece of furniture, and Morgan and Emily play a prank.
Disclaimer: I don't own Criminal Minds, CBS does.
Notes: I got a chapter done in less than 24 hours. :D I'm full of holiday cheer! ...and apparently, angsty h/c fluff. MAN I love this time of year. I was just so happy looking over all the old reviews and chapters that I realized I really wanted to write this next chapter, and you guys deserve more than that last transition/loose-end chapter I put up yesterday. Title: React
Pairing(s): Hotch/Reid
Rating: FRT
Warning(s): None, really.
Summary: The team heads home, Reid gets a letter, and Hotch starts adjusting to his new home—Reid's apartment.
Author’s Notes: My writing's a bit rough, I've been out of the game for a while, but I'll be back in the swing of things by the next update. On to business: incredibly kind reviews encouraged me to pick this up again. ;_; You're all so sweet. I swear, I'll update more often! Musical Theatre and Stomach Flu and Midterms have kept me away, but I'm back! I've got another chapter coming soon and this next one could go just about anywhere, so what do you all want to see? H/C? Light smut? More Hotch, more Reid, whatever you all want to read, 'tis the season and I'm here to supply some cheer. So, Christmas, Hanukkah, Festivus, Winter Solstice, Kwanzaa, whatever you celebrate, rock on and keep reading. I love you all so much.

Title: Aftershock
Author: Spencer Lee
Series: Breaking Spencer Reid
Rating: FRT - language
Pairing: implied Hotch/Reid
Warnings: Language, non-explicit implied slash.
Feedback: I'll love you long time?
Sequel To: "Reunion"
Summary: Hotch is out of the field for a while and Reid is in the hospital, out of Hatford's grasp. But Hatford had once last ace up his sleeve, and it's going to make the next few months difficult for the team...

Disclaimer: I don't own Criminal Minds or any characters depicted herein that you might recognize. All recognizable characters are the property of CBS. I also do not own anything in North Carolina, including the Annie Penn Hospital. I do own Dr. Angler because this thing needed to pull a doctor out of its ass for this chapter. I don't own the character who inspired her, though. XD

Notes: A transition chapter between the first arc of the story, "Breaking Spencer Reid", and the second arc, "Mending Spencer Reid". Also, I'M SICK OF TWEAKING AND REWRITING THIS CHAPTER. XD So here it is,  I'm just going to post it and pretend I'm happy and it's done. If you see any glaring grammatical errors, gimme a heads-up.

A note: I'm pretty sure of where I want to take this, but I've got some other writing projects (See the entry of plotbunnies, a little ways above this one) that could use a little tending to. I know I've got a few loyal followers watching this and commenting faithfully (and a lot of people that are reading and not commenting *laughs*), but now that I've only got one chapter left for the first arc (presumably out of three total arcs), I'm wondering if I should keep straight on going (which I would still really enjoy, don't get me wrong) or take a while off from this to do something else (which would mean doing other things and picking it back up again in a few weeks/months). But I am a writer and thus at the behest of the readers. So it's up to you guys.

Thoughts, questions, remarks, threats....?

Title: Reunion
Author: Spencer Lee
Series: Breaking Spencer Reid
Rating: FRM
Pairing: slash, Hotch/Reid
Warnings: Blood, mentions of torture, non-explicit slash.

Feedback: Please? You've seen how happy it makes me... in fact, I archive and treasure every single comment I receive. Honest. *laughs* I'm a dork like that.
Summary: Sequel to "Reunion".
Six words, and so little time to contemplate them.

Disclaimer: I don't own the characters--lucky them. I also don't own anything in North Carolina.

A/N: I'd just like to apologize for that previous cliffhanger. XD That was cruel. Now to the real author's note: I've decided to stop nitpicking obsessively. From now on, I'm going to do rough drafts, edit them within my comfort zone and post them.
